Clinical and Statistical Studies on Pediatric Emergeny Room Patients.

Abstract
The author reviewed 5,620 pediatric age group patients visiting the emergency room in Jeonbug National University Hospital during the lash 2 years period from Nov, 1st., 1978 to Oct. 31st. , 1980.
The clinical and statistical results were obtained as follows:
1. Of the total 19,736 patients visiting the emergency room, the patients under 15 years of age occupied 28.5%, with the sex ratio male to female, 1.9: 1.
2. Preschool children between one year and six ;years of age occupied 44.9% of all pediatric patients.
3. The monthly distribution revealed higher incidence in Aug. Sep. Oct., and tle most popular time of visitng the emergency room was between 8 : 00 pm and 12 : 00 pm, at which time 39% of all pediatric patients were seen.
4. The most common disease was respiratory disease (41.7%), which was followed by accident (17.4%), gastrointestinal disease (13.29,), nervous disease (8.8%), infectious disease (4.9%), poisoning (3.5%), surgical disease (2.7%) and neonatal disease (1.9%) and the like in order of frequency.
5. The admission rate through the emergency room was 18, 1% of total pediatric emergency patients.
